VLOG 50: A RELAXED DAY CLEANING

today was one of the more relaxing days I’ve had in a while. The sun has been patchy today and I haven’t been able to get up to full charge on the batteries but since I’m heading bush tomorrow, it’s no big deal.

I took the chance to get some cleaning and organising done today. I’ve removed the curtain that keeps falling down and the plan is to replace it with a fly mesh. I also cleaned up the back bench properly so there is nothing loose and floating around on it anymore.

VLOG 49: THE BATTERY BAG IS FINISHED

I woke up to a pretty wet day this morning and it stayed that way for most of the day. I haven’t been able to get much solar in so I made the decision to head to the super market and jaycar.

I was hoping to find a small shunt at jaycar to monitor starlink power on the battery bag but I couldn’t find one at the right price, I’ll have to resort to online. I mounted the inverter in the battery bag this afternoon and charged up the battery using the kickass 22amp 240v charger from sam. It all works a treat!

VLOG 48: BACK INTO TOWN

I packed up camp after the morning live stream with the intention of heading to the free camp near Landsborough for the night. When I got to the camp I discovered it was quiet busy as there was a lot of junk around so i bailed out to a regular spot near caloundra.

I made use of the afternoon by cleaning up the rest of the van. The inside is now pretty well organised, I just have one box left to sort out.

VLOG 47: FIRST TIME FILMING HORIZONTAL

I found a spot pretty last night after dinner at mum and dads. I ended up pulling up along a river out the back of caloundra. I woke up around 6:30am, packed up the tent and setup for stream.

after stream I came out to a spot slothie and i have been to before. It’s just a big dirt patch on the edge of the bush but it’s a pretty good spot to chill out for a day or two.

I decided today to try and film the vlog horizontally and I think its made an improvement!

VLOG 46: SLOTHIES LAST DAY

it’s slothies last day on the road trip but she had fun and is keen for the next one! We will give her a week to relax and get straight back on the road.

I live in the van full time so the road trip continues for me… I’m going to head a little west on Monday and see what happens. This trip was super fun and it was nice to spend it with slothie.

VLOG 45: ITS FRIGHT NIGHT!

we woke up to clear skies this morning and was able to get a good amount of power in, which is good because tonight is fright night!

we spent the day chilling out around camp preparing for tonight and we managed to find an interesting location not far from Kenilworth, gheerulla cemetery.

we packed up late afternoon and grabbed some final supplies from the small but well stocked supermarket in Kenilworth and are now at out fright night location. Tonight is the first night I’ll be trying to use to roving cameras for a fright night, I’m excited to see if I can make it work.

VLOG 44: A QUICK TRIP INTO KENILWORTH

we woke to a bit of an overcast morning today, it was still a very nice day though! Slothie informed me last night that she wanted to go into town today to visit the op shop. We went today and while we were in town we picked up some groceries and grabbed a pie from the famous Kenilworth bakery. …the pie alone was woth the trip to Kenilworth.

when we got back to the camp we went and checked out the other side of the bridge. There is a walk through a fig tree forest however we didn’t have enough time to do it, hoping to do it tomorrow morning before we leave.

VLOG 43: FROM FLAXTON TO KENILWORTH

Today was a pretty awesome day. We woke up out the back flaxton after driving for a good hour and a half after the live night. We decided to head to Kenilworth free camp at little yabba Creek for tonight with a stop in at maplet9n Falls on the way.

slothie had never seen a waterfall in person until today! The height of the viewing platform was a bit much for her but I think she enjoyed it!

we got to Kenilworth a bit after a lunch and after setting up we went and had a look at the river. It’s a really pretty spot.

VLOG #42: A CHILLED DAY BY THE LAKE

We woke up early today and went back to baroon pocket dam for a chill. This morning started off a bit overcast and I was worried how power would be. The sky cleared up and we made it up to 100% with both panels out.

VLOG 41: HEADING TO BAROON POCKET DAM

Woke up to yet another awesome day! Today we said bye to cya_matey and left kilcoy. We decided the next stop should be baroon pocket dam. We left around 12:30pm and after a couple of stops on the road, got there about 2:30pm and slothie is streaming as I type this.

so far the trip has been awesome and slothie is really adjusting well to vanlife.
